The Town of Pomona Park has lost our beloved Mayor, John C. Bergquist, Jr. - He gave a valiant fight with cancer and passed last evening at 11:59p.m. at Community Hospice Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine, Florida. We have placed all our flags in Pomona Park at half-mast in honor of John. You might not be aware, but he has contributed so much to the Town of Pomona Park - from getting financial stability, to following through with roads and streets. The list is endless. There will be a Celebration of Life at some point. Right now, we are all saddened for his wife Pat, two sons - John and Chris, their families, and his (Mayor) 96 year old mother, Jackie. The family kindly asks for privacy at this time. They are surrounded by close friends and each other. Thank you and please say prayers for the entire Bergquist family. Your Pomona Park Family - Mayor Pro Tem Joseph Svingala and his wife Joyce Kilcher Svingala, Councilman Dr. Robert Warren and his wife Julianna, Councilman CarrieAnne Evan and her husband Jason, Councilman Patricia Mead, Counclman Jim Griffin and his wife Shirley, and Councilman Victor Szatkowski and his wife Judy. Town Employees: Ive Sauls, Nancy Lajoie, Carl Robinson, Matt Caramagna, and Joan O'Connor
