Arbor Day ceremonies and tree planting Friday
Pomona Park’s 33rd annual Arbor Day ceremonies, including a tree planting, is 4 p.m. Friday at Hazen Ball Field, 370 Pleasant St. Free trees will be given away while supplies last.
Guest speakers will include Will Liner, Cooperative Forestry Assistance supervisor; Josephson Blake, Putnam County forester; and Julio Perez, University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension Putnam County. Pat Mead will give the welcome and introductions, chairwoman of the Tree Board, and the Arbor Day proclamation will be given by Mayor Joe Svingala.
